You can also use the flowers of dandelions to make a syrup that detoxifies the blood and improves digestion.
This syrup is a wonderful treatment to ease coughing and soothes an itchy throat.
Here’s the recipe for making dandelion syrup:
Harvest around 400 yellow dandelions.
Put them in a large bowl and pour about 3 liters of cold water over them.
Add four oranges and four lemons.
Wait for 24 hours.
After the 24 hours has passed use cheesecloth to strain the mixture and pour the liquid in a large pot.
Next, pour two pounds of sugar and cook for 90 minutes once you notice that the solution is boiling.
Make sure to stir the mixture once in a while.
The final result should be a thick syrup.
Next, lower the heat and put the warm syrup in heated jars that have been cleaned and sterilized.
Seal them tight.
Since the syrup comes in a very dense texture and consistency, many people call it dandelion honey.
This syrup/honey is great for eliminating the symptoms and signs of coughs, colds, fever and bronchitis.
Take it with the help of a teaspoon. It is also good to know that this natural syrup is great for the children too.
